Missions
Sumner-Redcliffs
parish supports a variety of mission activities, both
within New Zealand and overseas. Here we outline
just some of the people and activities we regularly
support. Please note that this is not a complete
list.
Fuse Youth Cafe

Locally we
support the Fuse Youth Cafe which operates in the heart
of Sumner. It's a safe place for both intermediate and
High school age young people to hang out. Many of our
Youth Group members help out at Fuse on a regular basis.
Bible In Schools
Together with other churches in the
neighbourhood, we run the Bible in Schools program at
Redcliffs Primary School.
Seek Freedom

Seek Freedom is a national organisation,
coordinated from Sumner,
that places Bibles in high country huts throughout New
Zealand.
Mission Market
Each year we hold a
Mission Market, which is very much like a church fair
except that all the money raised is given away to
support overseas mission. We support a number of
overseas mission partners working in various locations;
however as some of them work in sensitive parts of the
world, we have decided not to name any of them
specifically here.
Ingwavuma Orphan Care Trust

Ingwavuma is in the
KwaZulu-Natal area where 32.5% of women are HIV
positive.
There are 3000 orphans in the area and numbers are
growing. The
Ingwavuma Orphan Care Trust is
involved with community education, sustainable help
projects, advocacy, schooling
resources, business training and home-based care by
health workers. The objective
is to empower the existing community to improve
conditions.
Other Organisations
We
also support a number of other organisations including
NZCMS,
TEAR Fund and
World Vision.
