Is God calling you to be our next Vicar?

We are looking for a suitable person to be the next vicar of Sumner-Redcliffs Parish

Sumner-Redcliffs is an evangelical/charismatic parish with a strong concern for mission at home and overseas and with a variety of worship styles.  Amongst those who attend the more traditional services there is a predominantly Anglican heritage; however many of those attending the contemporary services come from other denominational backgrounds having been attracted by the lively worship and evangelical/charismatic ethos.  There is a strong emphasis on children’s and youth ministry while not neglecting the needs of older age groups.  Christian formation through biblical expository preaching and community building through home groups are central to our life.  Alpha is a key means of outreach in the parish.  We are currently seeking a new vicar.

The person who suits Sumner-Redcliffs will be comfortable working in a team ministry setting.  They will be respectful of, and able to engage in, a variety of worship styles across a spectrum ranging from traditional to contemporary.  A gift for Bible-based teaching to everyday people will be valued.  Our next vicar will be supportive of the youth and children's ministry teams and of Alpha and other aspects of evangelism.  A number of years experience in parish ministry is desirable alongside an ability to demonstrate God's love to the community.  An ability to build relationships between the church and the local community is of high priority. We are not looking for somebody who will run the parish on their own, but rather a person who will engage others in the work at hand.  Being a motivator and enthuser is therefore very important - you will be our coach, rather than a president.
