Welcome to:

Sumner's own radio station
The Wave is an LPFM radio station broadcasting from the bell tower at All Saints Church in Sumner. The transmitter has a power of 500mW, which is just sufficient to reach most of the houses in Sumner. The station transmits on 88.3 FM. If you are tuning in with a radio receiver on your stereo system, you will need to make sure the FM aerial is connected. Sorry, the programme is only available in the Sumner area.
Currently the station plays an automated program of popular and contemporary Christian music 24 hours per day.
Here are recordings of some interviews and programmes that have played on The Wave recently:
Alpha Course
Cafe Scene
Restoration Band
Child of God
Worship
Tear Fund - with Bruce Morris

Here are some pictures of our studio in the bell tower...
Some of the equipment in the studio. To the right is the equipment rack housing the
main computer and transmitter. The 'on-air' operator's console is in the centre and the
recording desk is to the left.
The recording desk where we record everything from jingles to full length shows.
This is the main equipment rack. The station is powered by Direttore Pro radio automation
software which runs on the computer at the bottom of the rack. The transmitter and signal
processing equipment are immediately above the PC. The silver units above that are a CD
player, then a mixer just below the screen.
Here is our aerial atop the bell tower - to the right of the wind vane. The studio is located just
below the louvred section of the tower.
