Ash Wednesday is an ancient holy day of prayer and fasting and signals the beginning of Lent, the six week period leading up to Easter. During this time it's tradition to give up something as a form of fasting as we prepare ourselves spiritually for Easter Sunday. This Wednesday at 10am we are hosting a special Ash Wednesday service at St Andrew's Redcliffs where there will be an opportunity to make a private vow of fasting for this coming Lent as well as to receive the imposition of ashes.
