We’re so excited to confirm our Church Camp for 2026 is taking place 9-11 October at Hibburt Park (just 30 minutes from Sumner)!
Building on the great time we shared at Alpha ’25, this is an opportunity to deepen our sense of community and relationships + kick off our 150th Celebrations in November.
This means singles, couples, families, old friends and new + anyone who’s joined SumRed recently.
There’ll be workshops and sessions on the Saturday morning for all ages and stages, plus dedicated youth and kids streams to make sure that everyone, including our tamariki, are well looked after.
Hibburt Park offers a bunch of great options:
The camp itself includes a hall, a chapel, a playground, nearby bike tracks, a skate ramp, a short walk to the beach, and a marquee full of games.
We’ve also arranged to have a coffee cart on site each morning serving (proper) quality barista coffee.
There will be no services at Sumner or Redcliffs (orat Sumner School Hall) on Sunday 8 March.
Instead, we’re going to gather for a combined serviceat Hibburt Park at 10am.
For those unable to stay for the weekend, we’ll run amini-bus from both Sumner and Redcliffs on Sunday morning for day visitors.Make sure you let us know if you’d like a ride!
The cost is $100pp for the entire weekend.
However, we’re asking people to simply give a koha asthey’re able. If this means $10 then that’s absolutely fine, we don’t want costto be a barrier!
If you have the means, why not consider contributingmore than the cost per person to help cover the cost of someone else?
Our hope is that as many people as possible will stay for the whole weekend rather than just come for the Sunday morning because wereckon it’s going to be well worth it.
